There is a new fad going round at work called Graze. You get a day (ie a lunch worth) of healthy stuff delivered including fresh fruit). Their theory is that grazing throughout the day is better for bloody sugar levels and many other things. Yeah its a bit pricey (£3 a box) but I got my first box free and second for £1.50 so I thought I'd give it a try, if only to discover healthy stuff I like - health food can be a bit intimidating for people that don't know their nuts and seeds!!
I'm sure I'll get bored of it soon, however I tried to use the principles last week. I know its fucking obvious stuff, but sometimes you can hear something a biliion times until it 'clicks'.I don't get so much a 3pm slump as a 3pm bloat (i look almost pregnant and the worst thing is more the tired feeling in my ab muscles rather than the apperance)- even if I have mininal refined carbs. It seemed to avoid that and I did feel better in myself, and seeing as my migraines are often tied to blood sugar, trying to keep it gently stable through the day seems a good plan. Also my risk times for eating crap are when I'm ravenous rather than just boredom eating. I'm also making sure I give each thing i eat time to settle before I decide if I want anything else - I am also guilty of stuffing myself too fast and suffering the consieunces. I also need to get past my mental dependence on having meat or cheese or eggs to feel like its a proper meal. I'm starting to convince my body that nuts are still 'solid food'. We'll see how it goes. Today I have done well - I had some left over greek salad (with Feta for protein) and will have some cashew nuts and a pear handy for afternoon snacks.
Anyway, if anyone UK based wants to try the Graze thing for free you can use this code to get a box free:

My first box was perfectly ripe pinapple slices. dates (mmmmm but something I get bored of easily so never buy coz the boxes are too big) and cashew nuts so I've done well so far!
